About Demolitia
Demolitia started dancing at an early age with a thirst for music and a talent for learning moves. Mother taught ballet and jive, so she had a good start. Early on she was pushed to perform on stage.
Bellydance for Demolitia started with Shimmy Armageddon, which she is still a part of, dancing cabaret at a variety of venues. Rock on the Lock, Utoxeter Mayfest, Rochester sweeps... lots of venues and loving every minute of it all thanks to Von Morley.
After a while, she tasted tribal with tuition from Pauline Q, and was part of the original Tribe of the Rhythmic Nomads, and Qu 2 along with Sarah and Pauline. The passion for dance was ever growing and she has since had workshops from Kami Liddle, The Uzume, Samantha Emanuel, Fulya, Bex Tasmin Leona and many more!! Always learning more about dance and more about how to interpret music.
Demolitias first group, The Kuchi Gypsies, were a beginners cabaret group. Since then, she has taught Tribelea, The Syrens, The Bangtail Vixen, The Boudica Baebes and Boomshanka. All detailed in the following pages. She is always doing something to raise money for various charities and is the founder of the Saffire Society.
Demolitia is known for experimenting with dance and has recently incorporated her years of kendo into the use of Swords in dance, so making a unique and interesting style. Dance is wonderful fun and excercise, and is constantly evolving with Demolitia. The group improvised dance style she teaches is fresh and adaptable, constantly growing and being influenced by a variety of other dance styles, making a powerful and contagious form of group dance.
Demolitia has danced with Steampunk group BB Blackdog, and is enjoying the Belly Burlesque she is using to perform with them, with a lot of high profile gigs in the history of performance, and indeed ahead, she is working hard on improving and adapting her styles and technique. Adding glow poi, rope and daggers to her repertoire, she is forging ahead with the music and dance.Lately adding to the show for the famous ALan Davey and his new project The Psychedelic Warlords, enjoying the rock impact and variety of festivals. A guest dance with Harvey Bainbridge with full body paint was awsome too!!
The Psychedelic Warlords, founded by the amazing bassist of Hawkwind Mr Alan Davey, has recently aquired Demolitia to assist in the visuals on stage show for their Space Ritual Tour during 2013 and this is a seriously exciting time for Demolitia, with huge adaptations to her costumes and stage acts to suit the space theme psychedelic lights and effect!
